Working with an experienced corporate controller, serve as co-lead of the corporate accounting team at a diversified company with multiple subsidiaries, each with their own accounting resources. Key functions of the corporate accounting team are to ensure the accuracy of the overall work product of the enterprise accounting process, directly manage the treasury function, and manage tax compliance of both an internal tax team and an outsourced tax partner. Specific areas of responsibility include:

• Accounting functional oversight of consolidating month-end and year-end close processes, quality control of accounting policies and procedures, ad hoc internal audits, financial statement review and variance analysis, ad hoc executive reporting, and fixed asset ledger management.
• Treasury functional oversight to include developing strong working relationships with banking partners, maximizing returns on excess cash balances, streamlining of treasury processes, and managing ongoing banking administration.
• Tax function oversight to include periodic review of tax accounts, management of internal tax team, and collaboration with external tax partner to provide required information for compliance and to facilitate tax savings strategies.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Qualifications:

• Masters’s degree in accounting; CPA highly preferred.
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in a corporate accounting environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with JDE is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (including, but not limited to Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
